A4 KATOWICE-KRAKOW_TEMPORARY NIGHT-TIME CARRIAGEWAY CLOSURES TOWARDS KRAKÓW

26 11 2019 #Press information

On the night of 26 to 27 November 2019 works related to the disassembly of the transtainer located in front of the Toll Plaza in Mysłowice will be carried out on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway. They will be associated with temporary closures of the carriageway towards Kraków, which may be important especially for those who want to travel to the Kraków Airport.

This temporary traffic organisation will apply near km 352+150. Temporary closures of the Katowice-Kraków section of A4 motorway, which will take no longer than 15 minutes, will apply to the carriageway towards Kraków. The road will be impassable during the closures.

We ask the drivers to pay special attention to the work site marking and to plan the trip to the Balice Airport in consideration of the possible time extension due to the work – says Rafał Czechowski, a spokesman of Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska.

The last stage of surface replacement on the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway which covered a 6-kilometre section between the Jeleń junction and the Toll Plaza in Mysłowice has been completed.  The works related to the extension of entries to the Toll Plaza in Balice and Mysłowice are continued.

Detailed information on the dates and location of traffic changes are published on www.ia4.pl, twitter.com/A4KatKra and at the Road Information Points.

Information about SAM SA

Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages the 60-km section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway. This is the first fully operational road of this type in Poland, built as part of the public-private partnership, as a brownfield project  on the basis of the road constructed in the 1970s  and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. obtained a license for its adaptation to the requirements of the toll motorway and operation in 1997. It required numerous investments. All investment projects and current maintenance of road lanes are funded from revenues obtained from the collection of tolls for the concession section and loans received from the international banking consortium. Unlike other concessions for the management of toll motorways, the project implemented by Stalexport Autostrada S. A. does not burden the State Treasury with any obligations. Moreover, it has not received any grants or guarantees of the Treasury.
