Changes in traffic organisation due to road surface replacement at the Mysłowice junction
On the concession section of the A4 motorway, the road surface of the Mysłowice junction is being replaced. Starting from 16 April this year, the Mysłowice-Kraków slip road will be closed and the narrowing of Obrzeżna Zachodnia street will be extended to the end of the junction.
The renovation work will also involve other traffic organisation changes.
Currently, in the area of the Mysłowice junction (km 346), part of Obrzeżna Zachodnia street between Mysłowice Centrum and Mysłowice Morgi is narrowed (for approximately 370m from the roundabout). As of 16 April, the narrowing of this street will be extended all the way to the end of the junction. Work on Obrzeżna Zachodnia street will continue until early August 2023. Also on 16 April, the Mysłowice-Kraków slip road, i.e. the entrance to the A4 motorway from Mysłowice towards Kraków, will be closed. Work on this slip road will last until mid-June 2023. The detour to Kraków will lead via the Murckowska junction in Katowice (km 340.5).
Subsequently, further slip roads at the Myslowice junction will be closed: Katowice-Mysłowice and Kraków-Mysłowice.
At the renovated Mysłowice junction, a narrowing of the connector (the roadway of the slip roads of the Mysłowice junction) parallel to the main roadway of the A4 motorway from Warsaw will also be introduced, while keeping the exit from the A4 from Katowice to Mysłowice open. The final section of this connector, i.e. the entrance to the main roadway of the motorway towards Kraków, will be closed.
Detailed information on the dates and location of changes in traffic organisation are published on the website www.ia4.pl, twitter.com/A4KatKra and at the Road Information Points.

Information about SAM SA
Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages the 60-km section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway. This is the first fully operational road of this type in Poland, built as part of the public-private partnership, as a brownfield project on the basis of the road constructed in the 1970s and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. obtained a license for its adaptation to the requirements of the toll motorway and operation in 1997. It required numerous investments. All investment projects and current maintenance of road lanes are funded from revenues obtained from the collection of tolls for the concession section and loans received from the international banking consortium. Unlike other concessions for the management of toll motorways, the project implemented by Stalexport Autostrada S. A. does not burden the State Treasury with any obligations. Moreover, it has not received any grants or guarantees of the Treasury.
