MORE THAN 25 THOUSAND PASSAGES WITH AUTOPAY
Swift transactions without stopping at gateways, fast passages thanks to the designated and specially marked lanes, no additional activities engaging the drivers, convenient operation of the account for both individual and company users - videotolling, launched two weeks ago, sets a new standard of travelling on the Katowice-Kraków section of the A4 motorway. 10 thousand passages with Autopay were recorded in the first week after launching the new, automatic toll collection system, and more than 15 thousand in the following week.
Since 16 July this year, passenger car drivers as well as drivers of small and large trucks travelling on the concession section of the A4 motorway can use videotolling - toll collection system based on the identification of vehicle registration numbers. Passages are paid by Autopay which allows drivers to register their vehicles in the database and link their registration numbers with credit or debit cards. Cameras on the gateways read the registration plate and the barrier rises immediately. Three gateways dedicated to this form of payment, marked with the symbol of a black camera on a yellow background, available in every toll collection plaza ensure efficient passages, even during periods of heavy traffic. The leftmost lanes are dedicated only to Autopay automatic payments and A4Go.
- Passage through the automatic gateways is much faster than through the lanes using traditional payment methods, as the first users, satisfied with the system, could find out. We hope that videotolling will become so common that it will considerably increase the efficiency of the toll collection plazas. The upcoming long weekend which usually means longer lines at gateways will be a perfect opportunity to join the "Fast but not Furious" and test Autopay - says Marta Dobrzańska from the Press Office of Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A., referring to the slogan that promotes the new service.
Videotolling is another step of Stalexport Austostrada Małopolska toward increasing the throughput of the toll collection plazas. Three years ago, the A4Go electronic toll collection was launched on the Katowice-Kraków section of the A4 motorway. During the first two weeks after the launch of A4Go over 15 thousand vehicles with on-board devices were recorded, and in the same comparative period there were almost 10 thousand more passages with Autopay. Szybcy.eu - Autopay's dedicated website was visited over 13 thousand times within 2 weeks.
The Autopay app can be downloaded to your phones for free using Google Play and App Store.
Blue Media is the partner of videotolling implementation on the Katowice-Kraków section of the A4 motorway and the author of Autopay.

Information about SAM SA

Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. obtained a license for its adaptation to the requirements of the toll motorway and operation in 1997. It required numerous investments. All investment projects and current maintenance of road lanes are funded from revenues obtained from the collection of tolls for the concession section and loans received from the international banking consortium. Unlike other concessions for the management of toll motorways, the project implemented by Stalexport Autostrada S. A. does not burden the State Treasury with any obligations. Moreover, it has not received any grants or guarantees of the Treasury.
