STALEXPORT AUTOSTRADA MAŁOPOLSKA S.A. IS REPLACING TOLL COLLECTION FACILITIES IN MYSŁOWICE
Works are underway on the A4 Katowice-Krakow as part of the comprehensive programme of increasing toll plaza capacity. So far the toll plazas in Mysłowice and Balice have been extended. The last stage of this project is the replacement of toll collection facilities, which will start on Monday (7 October 2013) in Mysłowice.
Replacement of toll collection facilities is financed from Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A.'s own funds. After the first phase of replacement it will be possible to introduce new payment methods with e.g. proximity, fleet and fuel cards, which is planned for the end of June 2014.
From 7 October, works connected with the replacement of the facilities will be carried out on two currently unused lanes built last year, in the northern part of the Mysłowice Toll Plaza, in the Katowice direction. Due to the location of the planned works, their course will not significantly influence traffic flow on the plaza. Toll booths operating so far will remain open, although there may be temporary traffic restrictions on the toll plaza out of the rush hours.
For security reasons temporary changes in traffic organisation will be introduced on the Mysłowice Toll Plaza. Between 7 October and 14 December the two newly opened lanes will be separated from the rest with concrete barriers. On 14 October, for five consecutive days, the outermost right lane dedicated to oversized vehicles will be closed and between 20 October and 16 November this lane may be temporarily out of service. Then on 21 to 26 October lane no. 14 will be closed and it may also become temporarily closed in the period from 27 October to 16 November. The times and scope of temporary organisation may be subject to slight changes, depending on the advancement of works.
The lanes on which works will start on Monday will be opened for regular operation before the end of this year. After the end of winter period the same works will be carried out consecutively on other toll collection lanes. All works connected with the project of increasing toll plaza capacity will be carried out in such a way to be the least troublesome for motorway users.

About SAM S.A.
Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages a 60-kilometre long stretch of the A4 motorway between Katowice and Krakow. It is the first fully functional road of this kind in Poland, built within the framework of public-private partnership as a brownfield investment – modernisation of the road built in the 1970s and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. has held the concession for its adaptation to the requirements of a toll motorway and operation since 1997. This required numerous investments. All investment projects, including current maintenance of the road, are financed from tolls for using the concession stretch and from loans obtained from an international bank consortium. Unlike other concessions for managing toll motorways, the project run by Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. does not burden the state budget in any way. The company does not benefit from any State Treasury subsidies or guarantees.
