STALEXPORT AUTOSTRADA MAŁOPOLSKA S.A. LAUNCHES A NEW CUSTOMER PORTAL DEDICATED TO A4Go ELECTRONIC TOLL COLLECTION

23 06 2020 #Press information

Today (Tuesday, 23 June), the concessionaire of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway launched a new customer portal for A4Go users, which is available at www.a4go.pl. A4Go users can now use two payment options for journeys: prepaid impulses (prepaid method) or a payment card assigned to the on-board unit (postpaid method).

Drivers who use A4Go to drive through Mysłowice and Balice toll plazas faster can now manage their user accounts on the customer portal efficiently and conveniently. On the portal, they will find, among other things, information on their devices, number of impulses, selected payment methods, as well as information on transactions, journeys, or downloadable invoices.

Those who are still unsure about automatic payments can go to www.a4go.pl to find out why they should switch into electronic toll collection and how they can do this.

There are now two A4Go payment methods. The first one is a prepaid method, which involves purchasing a package of impulses (motorway journeys), which are assigned to the on-board unit. The other one is a postpaid method, which involves adding a payment card to the on-board unit. In this case, the toll is collected from the card after passing a toll gate. The driver can choose both methods.

"The A4Go Customer Portal fully responds to the needs of modern Internet users who browse the Internet on various devices such as smartphones, computers, or tablets. We wanted the new website to be well designed, user-friendly, and show all information that is important to current and future A4Go customers," says Rafał Czechowski, spokesperson for SAM SA. "We launched electronic toll collection mainly for regular users of our motorways, entrepreneurs, and fleet owners, for whom passing the gates quickly or having a convenient control over business trips is important. This solution should also be considered because it saves money – it is currently the only tool that can secure cheaper tolls for travelling our motorway for as many as two years thanks to being able to top up the on-board unit with impulses in advance," he adds.

Those who use the A4Go or Telepass electronic toll collection or the Autopay app can save up to 15-30% per every journey until September 2020 by paying PLN 7 instead of PLN 10 for category 1 vehicles, PLN 17 instead of PLN 20 for category 2 and 3 vehicles, and PLN 30 instead of PLN 35 for category 4 and 5 vehicles. During the discount period, those who choose the prepaid method for A4Go will pay PLN 140 (category 1), 340 (category 2 and 3), or 600 (category 4) for a package of 20 impulses, which is valid for two years. One impulse is one passage through a toll plaza.

The A4Go electronic toll collection is based on an on-board unit, which is rented to users against a deposit of PLN 50. Installed on the windscreen, it communicates with an antenna on the toll gate. The gate opens after the vehicle has been categorised. Two vehicle categories and three vehicle registration plates can be assigned to a single on-board unit. Users of A4Go and other automatic payment methods can enjoy fast toll collection by using the leftmost gate, which is marked in orange, at Mysłowice and Balice toll plazas. Its capacity is three times higher than that of manually-operated gates.

The concessionaire of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway launched the A4Go electronic toll collection in July 2016. Within four years, almost 40,000 on-board units have been rented to drivers, with over 27,000 users creating an account on the A4Go portal.

SAM SA prepared a video with all functionalities of the new A4Go Customer Portal, which is available at https://youtu.be/R95U5DkKUXA.
