STALEXPORT AUTOSTRADA MAŁOPOLSKA S.A. MAINTAINS AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS DISCOUNT FOR THE A4 KATOWICE-KRAKÓW MOTORWAY. WITH A4Go, DRIVERS WILL PAY PLN 7 FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS
Drivers of passenger cars using the A4Go electronic toll collection system have two more weeks to purchase impulses for the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway at the price of PLN 7, which they will be able to use for toll payments for the next two years. From 1 October this year, despite the changes in toll rates for category 1 vehicles, the concessionaire will continue to reward automatic payments with a high discount. The toll rate for passenger cars with Autopay or SkyCash applications or with the A4Go on-board unit will be lower by PLN 4 at each gate.
Users of the A4Go electronic toll collection in the pre-paid formula have the option to purchase journeys on the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway at the price of PLN 7 for the next two years, regardless of any changes in toll rates. All you need to do is to top up the on-board unit with impulses or register in A4Go service and buy an impulse package by the end of September.
From 1 October this year, drivers of passenger cars who pay for journeys automatically via A4Go in the post-paid formula, Telepass, or Autopay or SkyCash applications, will still be able to obtain more than 30 percent discount for journeys, despite the change in the toll rate for category 1 vehicles. They will pay PLN 8 at each gate - PLN 4 less than those paying with cash or card. This rate was collected at the gates of the concession section of A4 more than ten years ago, i.e. since 1 December 2009. Preferential rates for category 2 and 3 vehicles (PLN 17 on each TCP) and categories 4 and 5 (PLN 30 on each TCP) will be maintained in the
current amount.
From 1 October this year, the rate for the users of the A4 Katowice-Crakow motorway driving category 1 vehicles and not using automatic payment options will amount to PLN 12 on each TCP (the current amount is PLN 10). Motorcyclists will be entitled to a discount of PLN 6, so they will pay PLN 6 on each gate.
The last changes of toll rates for the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway for category 1 vehicles took place on 1 March 2015. The drives of passenger cars using automatic payments until 30 September 2020 will pay PLN 7 instead of PLN 10 on each of the two toll collection points.
- Our priority is to shorten travel time between Katowice and Krakow, which is to be achieved using faster and more convenient automatic payments. That is why we are offering an even higher discount, hoping that it will be an additional incentive for drivers to cease paying in cash or by card and choose one of the available applications or an on-board unit - says Rafał Czechowski, a spokesman for SAM SA. - Apart from the financial and travel time benefits, in times of the pandemic, an important advantage of automatic payments is that they do not require contact between the driver and the collector, which offers additional safety - he adds.
In July this year, SAM SA extended the selection of automatic payment methods for journeys with the SkyCash application and expanded the A4Go electronic toll collection to include the post-paid option. During peak hours, the share of automatic payments in total transactions is approx. 35 per cent. Information about the available options of automatic toll payment can be found at www.automatycznaA4.pl.

Information about SAM SA
Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages the 60-km section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway. This is the first fully operational road of this type in Poland, built as part of the public-private partnership, as a brownfield project on the basis of the road constructed in the 1970s and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. obtained a license for its adaptation to the requirements of the toll motorway and operation in 1997. It required numerous investments. All investment projects and current maintenance of road lanes are funded from revenues obtained from the collection of tolls for the concession section and loans received from the international banking consortium. Unlike other concessions for the management of toll motorways, the project implemented by Stalexport Autostrada S. A. does not burden the State Treasury with any obligations. Moreover, it has not received any grants or guarantees of the Treasury.
