STALEXPORT AUTOSTRADA MAŁOPOLSKA S.A. OPENS GATES DEDICATED TO A4Go ELECTRONIC TOLL COLLECTION
On Christmas Eve, 24 December, users of the electronic toll collection system on the A4 Katowice-Krakow will be able to go through gates dedicated to this payment method for the first time. The booths are located on leftmost lanes of toll plazas in Myslowice and Balice and are dedicated for cars.
- Electronic toll collection was launched in July. Now there are already over six and a half thousand A4Go on-board units in use. Such a number justifies marking off gates dedicated to cars with a fitted on-board device. This solution may make going through toll plazas a lot easier – says Rafał Czechowski, the spokesperson for SAM S.A.
It will still be possible to use the A4Go electronic toll collection on most gates, which are clearly marked with the A4Go logo. From Saturday leftmost lanes will only be dedicated to cars fitted with on-board units and each time the cashier will decide on the vehicle category at these "stop & go" gates. At night, due to light traffic these gates may be temporarily closed, but A4Go users will be attended to on other lanes.
Before entrances to toll plazas and above the booths there are boards informing about gates dedicated to A4Go accepting electronic payments and gates dedicated solely to cash and card payments.
Leftmost lanes dedicated to A4Go are additionally marked with orange arrows on the road.
A4Go on-board units with unit packages are sold at Customer Service Points, open on weekdays from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m., located at toll plazas in Mysłowice and Balice. A4Go may also be conveniently bought via www.kartA4Go.pl.
Detailed information about electronic toll collection A4Go is available at www.autostrada-a4.pl, on Twitter (@A4KatKra), Facebook (a4katowicekrakow) and at Customer Service Points.
On the A4 Katowice-Krakow it is impossible to pay through the viaToll system, i.e. using viaBox or viaAuto.

About Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. (SAM S.A.)
Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages the 60-kilometre long stretch of the A4 motorway between Katowice and Krakow. It is the first fully functional road of this kind in Poland, built within the framework of public-private partnership as a brownfield investment – modernisation of the road built in the 1970s and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. has held the concession for its adaptation to the requirements of a toll motorway and operation since 1997. Meeting the concession obligations has required numerous investments. All investment projects, including current maintenance of the road, are financed from tolls for using the concession stretch and from loans obtained from an international bank consortium. Unlike other concessions for managing toll motorways, the project run by Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. does not burden the state budget in any way. The company does not receive the so-called availability payments from the State. The company does not benefit from any State Treasury subsidies or guarantees.
