TURNING JAMS INTO STUDS AND CORK WITH A4Go ELETRONIC TOLL COLLECTION
We turn traffic jams into cork and football boots in a new campaign where Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. links maximum comfort of travelling on the A4 Katowice-Krakow to supporting children and youth. Positive response of drivers will be additionally rewarded by SAM S.A. with especially prepared gifts made of cork.
As part of the campaign advertising electronic toll collection on the A4 Katowice-Krakow, drivers who buy A4Go on-board units will help fund football boots for children from Dom Aniołów Stróżów (House of Guardian Angels) charity. Purchasing the new A4Go on-board units for category 1 vehicles will be additionally awarded with useful gifts made of cork for travellers.
– Turning traffic jams into cork and studs is a wordplay in the Polish language as all of these words are homonyms. As each purchase of the A4Go on-board unit significantly improves traffic flow on toll plazas of the A4 Katowice-Krakow now it also contributes to the budget that we will dedicate for purchasing football boots (also called studs) for children - says Rafał Czechowski, the spokesperson for SAM S.A. – Another dimension of our campaign is cork: unique gifts made of this material that we have prepared for drivers - he adds.
A4Go is the most modern and easiest way of payment for using the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway. For drivers of cars it is also the cheapest solution – deciding on A4Go they receive a 10 per cent discount for using the motorway. Soon they will also be able to use lanes dedicated solely to this payment method that will additionally make going through the toll plazas easier.
As part of the campaign "Turning jams into studs and cork" one zloty from each newly bought on-board unit will be dedicated by the concessionaire of the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway to purchasing sport shoes for children sponsored by the Katowice-based Dom Aniołów Stróżów. The organisation helps children and youth from a difficult environment as well as socially maladjusted people and their families. One of the forms of educating children and youth the charity relies on is sport - e.g. football. Dom Aniołów Stróżów has its football team comprising boys aged 7 to 12. Children master their football skills coached by experienced professionals. In spring 2017, at the end of the campaign, they will play a game against a team of children sponsored by one of NGOs from the Malopolska region.
Throughout the campaign buying new on-board units for category 1 vehicles (excluding motorcycles) at Customer Service Points at the A4 Katowice-Krakow will be additionally awarded with practical gifts made of cork. Each month one hundred gifts for drivers are to be given away, including e.g. luggage tags, eyeglass cases or card wallets.

About Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. (SAM S.A.)
Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages the 60-kilometre long stretch of the A4 motorway between Katowice and Krakow. It is the first fully functional road of this kind in Poland, built within the framework of public-private partnership as a brownfield investment – modernisation of the road built in the 1970s and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. has held the concession for its adaptation to the requirements of a toll motorway and operation since 1997. Meeting the concession obligations has required numerous investments. All investment projects, including current maintenance of the road, are financed from tolls for using the concession stretch and from loans obtained from an international bank consortium. Unlike other concessions for managing toll motorways, the project run by Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. does not burden the state budget in any way. The company does not receive the so-called availability payments from the State. The company does not benefit from any State Treasury subsidies or guarantees.
