From 1 March replacement of the road surface between the Rudo junction and the toll plaza in Balice

24 02 2025 #New #Warning

With the safety of users of the A4 Katowice-Krakow in mind, modernisation works are starting at the beginning of March. The company intends to carry out the works without any major impact on the capacity of the route, maintaining two lanes in each direction.

Therefore, we would like to inform you that there will be some inconvenience during the night hours (from 7 p.m.) between the Rudno junction and the Balice Toll Plaza (from km 384 to km 388) - preparatory works are being carried out there. During this time, there may be temporary narrowing to one lane on the carriageway in the direction to Kraków.

The pavement replacement of the carriageway towards Katowice is scheduled to begin on 1 March and one lane on this carriageway will be closed. However, 2 lanes in both directions of travel will be maintained.

On the carriageway towards Krakow, two lanes will be available for travellers in the direction of Krakow and one lane for travellers in the direction of Katowice (both directions will be separated by a special barrier).

One lane will be available on the carriageway towards Katowice.

On 2 March, preparatory works to replace the surface of the carriageway towards Krakow between the Mysłowice junction and the toll plaza in Mysłowice, i.e. from km 348 to km 351, are scheduled to begin. From 7 p.m. until the morning hours, there may be narrowing to one lane on the carriageway towards Katowice. The start of pavement replacement on the aforementioned section is scheduled for 6 March.

The proper maintenance of the infrastructure of the A4 Katowice-Krakow motorway, including the pavement and engineering structures (including bridges and viaducts), results not only from the regulations in force, but also from the provisions of the Concession Agreement, which impose on the concessionaire the obligation to hand over the motorway to the public in 2027 in perfect technical condition, i.e. in such a condition that it will not require repairs and upgrades in the following years.
