From 4 January 2016 chip cards KartA4 instead of subcription coupons

We would like to inform you that subscription coupons for A4 Katowice-Kraków toll motorway will be sold only by the end of 2015.
The subscription coupons will be replaced by KartA4 proximity chip cards which, will be sold starting from 4 January 2016.
KartA4 will allow the card holders to make payments for A4 Katowice-Kraków toll motorway at all toll gates in convenient, fast and cashless transactions. The right to use the motorway will be credited to the Customer’s account in the form of units (pulses) assigned to the card. One unit will allow the card holder to drive through one Toll Collection Plaza in Mysłowice or Balice. It will be possible to purchase (i.e. to top up the card) the units, sold in packages, at any time (the information on the packages of units is presented below).

Advantages of KartA4

• Faster passage through the toll collection gates
• One VAT invoice issued when purchasing the card with units or the package of units (topping up)
• Saving money (a discount of 5% when purchasing the cards with units for category 1 vehicles)

The cards with units will be purchased online on www.karta4.pl (starting from 4 January 2016) upon registration or at Customer Service Stations in Mysłowice and Balice.
The above-mentioned Customer’s account on www.karta4.pl will make it possible to top up the card and to access information about the purchased cards, made transactions and motorway use history. Furthermore, the account will give access to information about the number of unused units and their nominal value (before the discount) and the expiry date of individual packages of units. The account will also make it possible to block a lost or stolen card.

Note! There will be four types of cards: for category 1 vehicles (passenger cars), separately for category 2 vehicles and separately for category 3 vehicles, and for category 4 vehicles.
(Only one type of subscription coupons for category 2 and 3 vehicles has been sold so far.)

It will also be possible to order the cards with units using a form published on www.autostrada-a4.com.pl, starting from 4 January 2016 or by sending an order by e-mail to the address of one of the Customer Service Point.

The Customers who have so far been purchasing the subscription coupons for using the motorway will be able to purchase the cards with units in the online store www.karta4.pl and then purchase the packages of units having sent to the above-mentioned address of the Customer Service Point confirmation to make purchases in the online store and having provided an e-mail address which at the same time will serve as a login to the Customer’s account (registration in the store will then not be necessary). An activation link will be sent to the provided e-mail address with a temporary password to the Customer’s account.

The Customers who fail to send the above-mentioned confirmation and e-mail address will be able to activate their accounts in person at the Customer Service Point.
