Video tolling on the A4 motorway Katowice-Krakow/ works on the motorway

Toll collection which uses registration plate images (so-called video tolling) is an excellent and simple solution for drivers who use the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway from time to time, for example on their way for holidays or a long weekend.

You just have to:

1. Download Autopay application to your mobile phone from Google Play or App Store.
2. Register in the application, providing registration number of your vehicle and your card number and then

 you can enjoy fast passage at toll collection plazas in Mysłowice and Balice through specially marked motorway toll gates (two outer left gates and one gate at the toll collection plaza on the right).

Tolls are collected at two toll collection plazas mentioned above: half at entry gate and half at exit gate. For example, payment card of a driver who travels from Katowice to Kraków will be charged PLN 10 at toll collection plaza in Mysłowice and PLN 10 at toll collection plaza in Balice.

Drivers of passenger vehicles as well as light commercial vehicles and heavy goods vehicles (category 1 vehicles with the exception of motorcycles and category 2, 3, 4 and 5 vehicles) can use Autopay application at the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway.

There is no need to carry a phone with the Autopay application. Cameras read the registration numbers and the toll collection system checks whether a vehicle with given plate has already been registered. A driver may only pass through the gate only if there is a green light on the left side of the lane and if the barrier is raised.

BENEFITS:

• fast passage through the toll collection plazas due to designated and specially marked gates,
• no additional activities needed, which means that you do not have to open your window or hand card or cash to the collector,
• no long queues for gates with a camera symbol,
• immediate transaction,
• you can view all passages through the toll collection plazas and tolls paid at your account in the Autopay application,
• companies may receive one invoice for many passages from Autopay operator, namely Blue Media. It is no longer necessary to collect receipts from motorway gates and settle each of them separately.

Please note: if you by accident or due to emergency enter the lane without video tolling mark:

• inform the collector that you want to pay the toll using the Autopay application, 
• wait until the collection launches this payment type,
• wait until your registration plate is read, for green light and raised barrier.

 Please note: if the barrier is not raised, toll will be collected by the collector (payment in cash or by card).

 In such case you have to check:

• if there are funds on the payment card assigned to the account in the Autopay application   or/and
• if the registration plate is not dirty or damaged.

RESURFACING

Please be informed that due to resurfacing works:

• from 10 to 14 Septemeber at night only one lane in Krakow direction between the Jelen and Chrzanow junctions at the section of 4 kilometers (from km 368 to km 372)
• from 12 to 16 September at night only one lane in Krakow direction between the Jelen junction and the toll plaza in Myslowice at the section of 6 kilometers (from km 358 to 352). Then two narrowed lanes in both directions.
• from September to November at the toll plaza in Balice temporarily one toll lane in both directions will be closed
• two lanes in both directions at the toll plaza in Balice with a speed limit.

BRIDGES RENOVATIONS

• between the Rudno junction and the toll plaza in Balice (km 397) two narrowed lanes on both directions with a speed limit to 60 km/h,
• Myslowice junction (km 347) two narrowed lanes on both directions

MODERNISATION OF SEWAGE SYSTEM between the Rudno and Chrzaniw junctions

• on 11 September from 10 pm to the midnight on the carriageway to Katowice one lane at the section of 4 kilometers (km 376 - 372)
• from 11 September 10 pm to 12 September 9 on the carriageway to Krakow on lane at the section of 2 kilometers (km 374 - 376)
• from 12 to 15 September speed limit to 110 km/h at the section of 2 kilometers (km 374 - 376)
