Works on the A4 motorway, section Katowice-Krakow - update

We kindly inform you about the current traffic difficulties on the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway.

BRIDGE RENOVATION IN MYSŁOWICE

On a section of approx. 1 km (from km 348 to km 349):

• the carriageway towards Katowice is closed,
• on the carriageway towards Kraków, 2 narrowed lanes are intended for traffic in the direction of Katowice and 2 narrowed lanes for traffic in the direction of Kraków.

Completion of works is scheduled for November 2023.

WORKS ON MOTORWAY JUNCTIONS

Mysłowice junction (km 346) - replacement of the road surface

• narrowing of Obrzeżna Zachodnia street from the roundabout in the relation Mysłowice Centrum - Mysłowice Morgi to the end of the junction,
• closure the Mysłowice - Kraków slip road i.e. the entrance to the A4 motorway from Mysłowice towards Kraków. The detour to Krakow is led through the Murckowska junction in Katowice at km 340.5,
• narrowing of the roadway serving the slip roads of the Mysłowice junction, parallel to the main carriageway of the A4 motorway from Katowice, while maintaining an exit open from the A4 from Katowice to Mysłowice,
• closure of the final part of the above-mentioned roadway i.e. the entrance to the main carriageway of the A4 motorway in the direction of Krakow.

Brzęczkowice junction in Mysłowice (km 349) - crossroads of A4 motrorway and S1 expressway - bridge renovation

• exit from the A4 motorway to the S1 road is closed for drivers going from Kraków towards Łódź. The detour runs along the motorway towards Katowice to the Murckowska junction, and then along the national road no. 86 and expressway no. 86 towards Sosnowiec/Siewierz.

Attention! On May 9, traffic organization changed:

• opening of the exit from the A4 motorway to S1 for drivers going from Kraków towards Łódź,
• closure of the exit from the S1 road to the A4 for drivers going from the direction of Łódź towards Katowice. The detour will run along the internal slip roads of the Brzęczkowice junction.

 The exit from the S1 motorway towards Katowice will be closed until the second half of May 2023.

• narrowing on the carriageway towards Kraków under the bridge, while maintaining traffic with two narrowed lanes and speed limit to 60 km/h. A "STOP" sign is placed on the slip road direction Łódź-Kraków (traffic from the S1 road to the A4 rmotorway),
• narrowing on the carriageway towards Katowice under the bridge, while maintaining traffic with two narrowed lanes and speed limit to 60 km/h. A "STOP" is placed on the slip road direction Cieszyn-Katowice (traffic from the S1 road to A4).
• on the S1 road, on both roadways (in the direction of Łódź and Cieszyn) in the area of ​​the bridge over the A4 - 2 narrowed traffic lanes with a speed limit of 60 km/h.

ATTENTION!
Drivers driving the S1 expressway from Tychy in the direction of Katowice are recommended to use the national road no. 86.

Chrzanow junction (km 371)

• closed slip road from Katowice to Chrzanów. The detour was designated by the other slip roads of the Chrzanów junction,
• narrowing of the roadway DK79 (Trzebinia - Chrzanów) at the entrance of the currently closed slip road to A4 Katowice - Chrzanów and: 
• introduction of swing signaling,   
• traffic takes place on the opposite carriageway for approx. 200 m,   
• from the direction of Trzebinia, the "left turn" is closed on the roundabout in Europejska Street,
• from Europejska Street, the direct connector in ul. Trzebińska (relations towards Trzebinia and Chrzanów is  carried out through the roundabout). 

Above organization of traffic will last until about mid-May this year. Then another temporary organization will be introduced.
